More than 400 vacant jobs in the restaurant industry are currently in Gävleborg for the winter season.

- It's fun to meet people and serve Natalie Ingeroth, who is one of the 34 students at the restaurant school in Sandviken. 20 years ago there were 240 students here.

- If you want a job as a chef, you get it without any problems, says teacher Micke Södergren.

Open house

The public sector also needs people. To attract new students to seek chef education, the restaurant school in Sandviken must have an open house, and write a letter to all ninth-graders in the municipality.

- Most restaurant courses in the county, yes in the country, are difficult to get students. It's a shame because it's so fun and so easy to get a job. This applies both here at home and abroad, says Lena Celander, teacher at the chef training in Sandviken.
