The leader of Más País, Íñigo Errejón, presented on Friday his 'Green Agreement for Spain' that contains the core of the ecological transition policies of his electoral program and that is committed to reducing the work week to four days (32 hours ) and the vote after 16 years.

In the political act of presentation of the green bet of Errejón, he has shelled some of the measures contemplated in his program and stressed that they have taken the step in this electoral repetition "so that what is urgently takes precedence over the parties" .

"The parties decided in summer that Spain could wait. But the climatic emergency cannot wait. The climate emergency is more important than the calculations of the parties," he explained in the act in which he has been accompanied by many of the leaders from More Madrid.

In this 'Green Agreement for Spain', which provides for an average investment of between 6,000 and 8,000 million euros per year for the transformation of the country, they are committed to promoting self-consumption of energy, by a Climate Change law that contemplates a reduction of 55% of emissions in 2030, a completely renewable public administration, the electrification of the public fleet or a timetable for the closure of nuclear power plants, among others.

To this they add to create an Ombudsman for future generations, promote teleworking, boost the circular economy, limit peninsular flights betting on the train or achieve 'zero waste' by 2030 and the closure of incinerators for the same year.

For the candidate for Madrid for the Presidency of the Government of More Country, the best possibility of rebuilding "a country devastated by inequality and precariousness" and in which there is confrontation between territories, is "to take advantage of the challenge posed by climate change" to undertake an ecological transition based on social justice.

In this regard, and after noting that the only one who does not see climate change is Vox, "which is a good sign", has recriminated that on the eve of the National Holiday of October 12 there are those who want to "discuss the past" and on whether the dictator Francisco Franco should be exhumed or not.

Given this, Errejón, who has made it clear that the dictator must be transferred so that his remains rest with those of his family, he added that they wish not to discuss dictators and the past "in a nostalgic key" and yes about the future.

Therefore, he has claimed that the political formations do not include the climatic emergency in their programs such as the one that gives "a coat of paint", and has requested that it be approached from the seriousness. "If it is an emergency, there can be nothing more important than building a government now" to address that transition.

Private investment for the transition

During his speech, the candidate has shelled some of his measures, and has indicated that in order to carry them out, a large investment will be needed that can be achieved thanks to a fairer taxation, thanks to European Union funds and private investment, to which they would not give up.

He points out that this transformation of the country, it should also be noted in the public, that he must bet on local commerce and investing in business projects that are leading in that new green market, such as lithium batteries.

In addition, Errejón has pointed out that the advances in productivity, which allow greater effectiveness in less time, should be transferred to working hours so that society can benefit from it. He points out that with the reduction of the work week to four days, you gain in health, save on transport and increase productivity. "That the advances in productivity do not become precarious but in more pleasant lives," he added.

In addition, Errejón has pointed out that since climate change will affect especially the generations that are to come, and given that young people have set an example of responsibility, the voting age in Spain must be reduced to 16 years.

Together with Errejón, the Councilor for More Madrid, Inés Sabanés, Deputy Héctor Tejero, the Regional Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition of the Valencian Government, Mireia Mollà, and the candidate for Sevilla Esperanza Gómez participated.

Half a million green jobs

Tejero, who has been responsible for the drafting of the green part of the More Country program together with Sabanés, has pointed out that this climate challenge can be the "perfect lever" to further advance in gender equality since for example the week reduction Labor can encourage reconciliation.

He also stressed that the transition will require a lot of employment, and has estimated the generation in half a million new contracts a year for a decade. It indicates that these green jobs will help to reduce the gender gap since no one is left behind in regions that are affected, for example, by decarbonization.
