Recently SVT was able to reveal that Patrick Siegbahn, a writer on the blog Småsparerguiden who has long examined the Allra hut, has been subjected to a suspected data breach.

But he is not alone. The police investigation covers at least five additional cases where people have received email accounts hacked using similar methods. Two of the victims are called as prosecution witnesses in the trial that starts next week against some of the principals of the criticized fund company Allra.

SVT has spoken to one of the two witnesses, who says that he was subjected to a sim card hijacking similar to the one that hit Patrick Siegbahn, and that the hijacker thus managed to take over not only his, but also four other people's e-mail accounts.

- It was precisely the people who had different types of business relationships with Allra. None of our other former employees had any such relationship, nor were they subjected to any attempted infringement, says the victim.

Agreement possible connection

The suspected crimes are now included in the same preliminary investigation as the infringement against Patrick Siegbahn. In that case, the perpetrator had used a sync function that allowed Siegbahn to send another person's files to his own account - ie from the suspected perpetrator. No such thing has happened in the other cases.

According to SVT, the police are investigating a possible connection between Allra and the person whose files ended up on Patrick Siegbahn's computer: an agreement between Allra and a company that in practice is reportedly controlled by the person in question, where the company undertakes to help Allra with "legal advice. ”At a cost of SEK 3,000 per hour from May 2018, with an initial advance of SEK 500,000.

The investigation into suspected data breach is being led by chamber prosecutor Karin Lindkvist who does not want to comment on the case. She has previously confirmed to Expressen that a person has been served on suspicion of a crime.

The trial starts

Next week, the trial begins where several of Allra's representatives are charged with, among other things, bribery of a business in 2012. All the defendants deny the crime.

In parallel, a further preliminary investigation of events in recent years is ongoing, when, among other things, the former Minister of Social Democracy, Thomas Bodström, has been active as a board member of Allra.

Allra's board member and former CEO Alexander Ernstberger denies via his lawyer that he would have been involved in some data breaches. SVT is also looking for Allra's current Chairman of the Board, the former moderate MP Gunnar Axén.
