How to protect yourself from saddle theft

- I heard a lot about it during the summer, but lately there have not been so many cases, says Stefan Godeberg at the Agriculture Department.

After the summer's big theft of saddles, it now looks like the thefts have gained new momentum in Östergötland, police say.

During Wednesday, the police received three cases of saddle theft that must have occurred south of Mantorp. Now during Thursday morning, two more stables in Gammalkil should have been hit by thefts. In total it is about 15 saddles.

Most often, home insurance covers thefts of this type, says Stefan Godeberg.

- But we demand that there be locks on the saddle chamber, he says.

Installing alarms and DNA labeling their saddles can also be good, adds Stefan Godeberg.
