"The men are suspected of probable cause," says Prosecutor Thomas Forsberg, prosecutor at the National Unit against International and Organized Crime.

On Thursday afternoon, the prosecutor filed a detention petition with Uppsala District Court.

- I have taken part in the interrogations that have been held with the men, and there did not appear anything that made me refrain from demanding that all persons be detained, says Thomas Forsberg.

The arrest took place in connection with a police operation in a residential area in Storvreta on Tuesday.

- The police have had a look at the people for a while and it intensified after what happened on Kungsgatan.

Denies crime

In connection with the arrest of the men, another man was arrested, who is suspected of serious drug crime. He too has been arrested. According to the prosecutor, all five persons are related to each other.

The men suspected of attempted murder were born in the 90s and late 00s. The victims in the case are the two people who were seriously injured in connection with the incident on Kungsgatan.

Do the two people have any connection to the five suspected of crime?

- They are not unknown to each other.

How do the suspects react to the charges being brought against them?

- They refuse a crime.

Why is the national unit's goal against international and organized crime?

- I can't answer that for sure, there can be many different reasons. For example, a person is suspected of drug crime, says Thomas Forsberg.
