Since the second of October, 14 cars of the BMW and Mercedes-Benz brands in Västerås, Köping, Arboga, Kungsör and Skinnskatteberg have been subjected to car thefts.
Police suspect that foreign leagues specialized in theft of car equipment and exclusive cars are behind.
The leagues are known for working at night and for moving across large parts of the country. Recently, a similar theft wave was reported in the eastern police area.
According to the police, who now want tips from the public, it appears, for example, that the leagues create hiding places - for example in the forest - where they store the stolen parts while awaiting collection.
