The political leadership in Region Halland made a decision in 2017 that gave nurses the right to 100 percent in addition to compensation during inconvenient working hours. The nurses had to settle for a 50 percent surcharge.

"We request that we receive fair and equal compensation for the inconvenient working hours," says Fredrik Jensen, undersecretary and union coordinator in Municipal Halland.

"Needs recovery time"

The decision also meant working hours shortening after night care for nurses to allow time for recovery - even a measure that did not concern the nurses.

Now the nurses are starting a new name collection, which they hope will make a difference.

The difference in working conditions and unemployment benefits does not affect the relationship between the professional groups.

- We deal professionally between the professional categories. But I know that several nurses have written reports of abusive discrimination regarding the ob supplement, he says.
