Air pollution countermeasure with “Huge Air Purifier” October 10, Thailand, 20:34

In Bangkok, Thailand, where air pollution is a serious problem, a huge air cleaner 4 meters high has appeared. It is set up by the local government and is going to conduct experiments to verify the effects.

This experiment was initiated by the Bangkok Metropolitan Government to find an effective air pollution countermeasure.

Developed by local universities and companies, the air purifier is installed outside a commercial facility in the heart of the capital, 4 meters high and 1.5 meters wide.

In Thailand, air pollution caused by automobile and factory exhaust gas is serious, and in Bangkok last month, the concentration of PM2.5 per cubic meter is high, temporarily rising to 120 micrograms, which is desirable to protect health. There are a series of days that greatly exceed Japanese standards.

The experiment is scheduled to run for several months from the 10th, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Government will consider introduction if the average value of air pollutants around the air cleaner, PM2.5, falls below 50 micrograms.

The Thai government has so far sprayed sodium chloride from the airplane into the air to artificially rain it, or sprayed it with a water canister, but the effect is limited and effective measures with immediate effect are available. We are continuing to explore whether it can be introduced.
