The MEP EELV Yannick Jadot said Wednesday that Emmanuel Macron "made a mistake in trying to impose Mrs. (Sylvie) Goulard to the whole of Europe", while the Parliament asked for a second hearing Thursday before ratifying its appointment as commissioner.

"President Macron has made a mistake," denounced the MEP on Sud Radio, noting in particular a "serious ethical and deontological problem", even before Parliament's decision to request a second hearing for the one who seeks the portfolio of the Market inside.

The European Parliament convened on Wednesday the French commissioner Sylvie Goulard for a second hearing Thursday morning to allow him to dispel doubts about his integrity, we learned from a parliamentary group.

"She indicates that if she is indicted she will not resign, you realize, the image of France and the image of Europe, we already have enough distrust vis-à-vis Europe ", criticized the former head of EELV list in the European elections last May.

"My European colleagues, they do not understand, she can not be a minister but she can be a commissioner ...", he added.

Mrs Goulard resigned from the government in 2017 after the opening of a judicial inquiry in the case of the allegedly fictitious jobs of MEPs MoDem. The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) is also investigating.

The candidate also worked as a "consultant" for "more than 10,000 euros" monthly, for a US think tank, Berggruen Institute, from October 2013 to January 2016, while she was a MEP.

"It comes anyway in front of the deputies to say: + In fact, you're right, I should have investigated to find out where the money came from," said Mr. Jadot, pointing out that "this is still a problem seriousness of credibility to be European Commissioner ".
