The police, the border police and the customs authorities, together with a number of other authorities, carried out work checks at different addresses in the Vänersborg area on Wednesday.
- In connection with an inspection that took place, two people were arrested on suspicion of money laundering, says Tobias Land, on-duty fu leader at Fyrbodal police.
The police represent the nature of the operation. Tobias Land explains that several efforts have taken place.
Was it exactly this kind of crime you were looking to control?
- I can't answer that. It may sound strange, but it is about different efforts. And I have had to deal with precisely those deprived of liberty. The nature of the effort I have no more information about, other than that there have been workplace inspections in different places. How it was implemented, I can't answer unfortunately, says Tobias Land.
Thomas Fuxborg, press spokesman for the police in the West region, confirms that they have a planned operation in Vänersborg during Wednesday.
- We are making a major effort somewhere in Vänersborg together with our border police. It is not something we communicate until it is completed. It is a planned activity that will last until 18 o'clock, he says.
