“It should be noted our tolerance and hospitality, which contributed to the fact that we overcame this entire crisis and rather provocative background so that there was not the slightest incident that could be used for a subsequent provocation,” RIA Novosti quoted Turnavu as saying.

According to her, at present "there are no grounds for a flight ban, if there were any doubts about the safety issue, they also do not exist."

“Therefore, we understand the positive signals and we have expectations that this decision on the ban will be reviewed,” the minister added.

On July 8, a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin entered into force, which temporarily banned flights with Georgia.

Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called for the resumption of air links with Georgia.

According to the Minister, this would be correct, since the majority of the Georgian population realized the counterproductiveness of the provocation against Russia.

The Kremlin expects that in due time the necessary conditions will be created.

In turn, Georgian Prime Minister Georgy Gaharia welcomes the opportunity to improve relations with Russia, in particular, the resumption of direct flights.
