United Sisters Kungsbacka is part of the Fryshuset West Foundation and is one of four similar meeting places that are found throughout Sweden.

In Kungsbacka they have been staying for more than a year and during that time they have won the "Gift of the Year" award from the Victoria Order in Gothenburg, and received an average figure of 90 visitors a week.

- We are the platform where the girls can get, whether they feel good or not. Our dream is that no girl should feel bad, says Jessica Hansson, one of the initiators.

Want to offer the same service for guys

Now the management has decided that there is more investment in a United Sisters firm in Gothenburg and therefore chose to discontinue major parts of Kungsbacka's operations.

- The need really exists, and I didn't want us to cut back, but the next step would have been to offer the same thing for guys. It really feels like we went the wrong way with this and it's heavy, ”says Nathalie Steffner.

"Having to prioritize the one who is worst off is terrible"

As a result, United Sisters Kungsbacka will no longer be able to have any on-call telephone to which the girls could turn. Nor will they be able to meet as many girls and the work of lecturing at schools is completely excluded.

-We are the player that exists between the school and the care system and who have not had to prioritize the one who is worst off. Now we will have to introduce some kind of queuing system and have to prioritize the one that feels worst, feels terrible, says Nathalie Steffner.

What does the future look like now?

- The next step is to reconstruct and work more hours ideally because we can't help but be different, says Nathalie Steffner.
