The Sharjah Criminal Court has examined the case of an Arab young man accused of assaulting three policemen inside a shopping center, insulting and beating them, and threatening to post photos and videos of them while they were seizing them, on social media.

Details of the incident, according to the case papers, due to a police report against the accused by a woman for stealing her phone, and during the investigation was reached the accused in a shopping center, and was stopped, and asked for his identity, refused, and when trying to install him to restrict him, beat the police, insulting, spitting When he arrived at the police station, security officers threatened to post videos and photos of them on social media during the arrest to discredit them.

The court heard the witness's testimony in the case, stressing that the defendant was in a shopping center and was suspected, pointing out that they asked him for his identity as a normal procedure to confirm his identity, refused to give them to them, and began to ridicule them, and kicked one of his colleagues with his foot on the stomach, He did not recognize them as police, and spat on him and his colleagues, noting that they were able to control him.After arriving at the police station, officers threatened to post videos and photos of them while he was being caught, on social media, and send them to his country to spread and discredit them.

He explained that the reason for the suspect's suspicion is the existence of a report against him that he stole a phone from a woman in Sharjah, and it turned out that he was the wanted person himself, after confirming his identity at the security center.

The court faced the defendant with the charges against him and the witness's statements, denying all the charges, stressing that the case of theft is true, and is still pending in court.

The court decided to postpone the case until October 28, to call the rest of the witnesses, while continuing to imprison the accused.
