Egyptian Minister of Education Tarek Shawky announced the dismissal of 1070 teachers on the grounds that they belong to a "banned group."

According to a legal source, a government employee may be dismissed from work without notice, based on article 176 of the executive regulation of the Civil Service Law No. 81 of 2016.
