Netflix has chosen not to broadcast in France a dozen episodes deemed "derogatory" cartoon "South Park", recognized the platform a few days after the start of the broadcast seasons 15 to 21.

"Episodes were censored during their very first broadcast in France. They are considered as denigrating for some communities by the local audio-visual authorities," Netflix France explained on Twitter, without giving more details.

The platform was challenged by fans who worship, precisely, the side potache, provocative and full of references in this series that staged the adventures of four primary school children.

"If we could broadcast the censored episodes, we would have done it.We are obliged to respect what relates to the legal", pleaded on Twitter the US streaming platform, without giving details on the character "denigrating" of these episodes.

The suppressed episodes evoke in disorder the Germans, the Shoah, Osama Bin Laden, a doped Jesus, autism, American football or the reconciliation of the three great monotheisms.

Contacted by AFP, the Superior council of audio-visual emphasized that it had only "warned" the chain Game One, in 2007, after the diffusion of two episodes of the season 10 of the series, because they should have been inadvisable to those under 12 years old and broadcast after 10 pm, "because of the raw and vulgar language of the characters, explicit sexual references and the application of dog training methods to the upbringing of a child ".

In early September, Netflix also posted in Ireland and the UK its catalog of South Park, choosing to broadcast the first and last three seasons and a selection of the "most significant episodes," according to his Twitter account.

In France, the episodes of South Park are also broadcast on a bouquet of Orange and should be available on Amazon Prime in October.
