Haaretz reported that the Israeli Interior Ministry is canceling the permanent Israeli residence carried by the Palestinian Omar Barghouti, founder of the boycott Israel movement known as "BDS".

The newspaper said that Tel Aviv would take this step because of Barghouti's political activity and support for the boycott, divestment and imposition of sanctions on Israel.

She added that the Israeli Minister of Interior ordered the Immigration Department to review the residency status of Barghouti, who lives in the city of Acre, on charges of violating trust and harming the State of Israel.

Barghouthi obtained a residence permit after marrying a Palestinian from within who holds Israeli citizenship.

BDS is active in confronting Israel, a global movement that seeks to expose the practices of the occupation and expose its racism, and to stop all forms of normalization with it.
