“The second stage - in June 2020 - cargo traffic will open on the bridge and approaches,” the Ministry of Transport told RIA Novosti.

They added that such a decision was connected with the transfer of the site of the Kerch approach in order to preserve a unique monument of archeology - an ancient estate.

“It was discovered at the stage of preparing the territory for construction,” the department said.

In August, the Ministry of Transport announced that the movement of trains on the Crimean bridge will be launched before the end of this year.
