The head of the UK said that over the past year, 40% of the heads of territorial bodies were replaced in the department, with 1,500 investigators receiving disciplinary punishments annually.
Bastrykin emphasized that active measures are being taken to strengthen discipline.
“At least in cases where there was an obvious disorganization, lack of clear control and discipline, there should be checks and appropriate departmental penalties. We are actively applying this at home, ”he said.
In December, Bastrykin instructed to study the quality of the investigation of criminal cases that were later returned by the court or for which acquittals were passed.
This decision was made after criticism of the investigation by the Moscow City Court chairman Olga Yegorova, who stated about the “low quality of the collection and presentation of evidence by the prosecution,” which subsequently leads to a large number of acquittals in cases involving jurors.
