Cross-country mountain biking champion Pauline Ferrand-Prévot was forced to give up after suffering a nose injury during a crash Sunday in Izu (Japan) during the "test event", a rehearsal on the Olympic Games less than a year from the Tokyo Games.

"Heavy drop because of a competitor after 10 minutes of race.Result: nose open and broken," wrote on his account Facebook + PFP +, adding that she will see a surgeon Monday in France.

The race, on the Olympic course, was won by her rival, Swiss Jolanda Neff, ahead of her compatriot Sina Frei and the Dutch Anne Terpstra.

"The circuit is top, super technical and very physical" could still found Ferrand-Prévot, who will aim his first Olympic medal in Japan.
