In 2011, the Alliance government introduced a new grading system where students are graded after each component.

In recent years, the system has been criticized by both teachers and students.

Jan Björklund, former party leader of the Liberals, says in the program "My Truth" that he is aware of the stress that the rating scale has contributed to many students.

- It got too strict at some points, he says.

But he also explains why he thinks it was necessary to change the old grading system:

- We had a grading system before where it was easier to get high grades. We got a rating inflation, where the grades rose but the knowledge dropped, he says in the program.

The government has now, with the support of the Liberals and the Center Party, appointed a rating study. They will make suggestions on how to replace today's course grades with subject grades and how they should be designed to give a more rebuttal of students' actual knowledge of a subject.

In My Truth on SVT Play, Jan Björklund talks about the criticism of the new grading system and about the split of the Alliance. The program will be broadcast in SVT2 at 20:00 on Tuesday 8 October.
