During the ceremony held at the Qatar International Convention Center, the Qatari Minister of Education and Higher Education honored 100 veteran teachers in recognition of their efforts in the field of education in the State of Qatar.The ceremony also witnessed a special celebration for new teachers who received the banner of spreading the flag from their old colleagues.

According to Al Hammadi, the Qatari policy of advancing the human element as the real wealth has put the teacher at the forefront of this policy, which is a vivid indication of the country's interest in teachers, as well as the construction of an educational system that meets modern international standards in which teachers play a pivotal role in preparing students for the future. Regarding the mechanisms of selection and recruitment of teachers, the Qatari minister said that his country has achieved the highest indicators of integrity and transparency in the public service in the educational system through the implementation of selection criteria and methods according to high qualifications, because the progress in education depends on the qualifications and experience of teachers, and their human, leadership, educational and professional qualities on Both.

Actions to support the teacher
Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Qatar, Anna Paolini, stressed the urgent need to take action to support teachers around the world, pointing out that today the world needs about 69 million new teachers to meet the 2030 education agenda, as well as the possibility of exacerbating the disparities between the world directly, Seventy percent of sub-Saharan countries suffer from a severe shortage of teachers, rising to 90 percent at the secondary level.

It called for the use of modern media and technologies to raise the level of the teaching profession and to highlight its importance to achieve the desired change in the field of human rights, social justice and climate by improving the employment opportunities and working conditions for teachers, and called on governments to make the teaching profession the first choice among young people.

One of the veteran teachers honored at the ceremony, Nasser Saleh al-Khulaki, told Al Jazeera Net that he was very proud of his country's appreciation of the role he played throughout his teaching career, pointing out that his profession, which he had dreamed all his life, achieved him all he wanted.

Alkhalaki considers that the success of any of his students in all fields is a personal success for him and he feels when one of his students finds in his high place that he has achieved the same achievement by supporting this young student and refined it with the knowledge that helped him to emerge and excellence, stressing that Qatar provides all forms of support for the teacher to continue his career , Which made the education in the country among the first list of Arabs.

Qatar's celebration of Teachers 'Day annually coincides with the celebration of World Teachers' Day, which was endorsed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in recognition of the fundamental role of teachers as a pillar of the educational process, and is celebrated on 5 October each year.
