This is stated in a statement by State Department spokesman Morgan Ortagus, published on the agency’s website.

“The comments made earlier by the DPRK delegation do not reflect the content or spirit of today's discussion lasting eight and a half hours,” the text says.

According to the State Department, the United States “brought creative ideas and had a good discussion” with colleagues from the DPRK.

"The US delegation has previously considered a number of new initiatives that will allow us to make progress in each of the four pillars of the Singapore joint statement," the agency said.

The statement said that the United States invited the DPRK to accept Sweden’s invitation to return to Stockholm, “so that they could meet again in two weeks and continue discussing all topics.”

“The delegation of the United States has accepted this invitation,” the State Department said in a statement.

Earlier on special missions, the DPRK Foreign Ministry, Kim Myung-Gil, announced the failure of the working talks with the United States that took place in Sweden.
