Emmanuel Macron was in Auvergne this Friday, October 4, where he met breeders at the top of livestock in Cournon and journalists from La Montagne for the centenary of the regional daily.

The head of state spent the whole day in Auvergne, starting with five hours of unannounced visit to the Livestock Summit in the morning and then with a debate with the employees of La Montagne , on the occasion of 100 years of the newspaper Auvergne. He came directly from Rodez where he held a debate on pensions .

" We need journalists, " said the head of state, after a speech in honor of the newspaper La Montagne and its founder Alexandre Varenne. " What I am more convinced that a few months or years ago is that the function of journalist is essential in society, " he said, " for the guarantee of seriousness and trust " against false information.

He also took the opportunity to criticize Google, which refuses to pay the press content as provided by a European directive. " We will fight with you on the legal side, " Emmanuel Macron promised reporters, " to better pay press publishers and news agencies ."

'Additional aids' to breeders

This is a similar speech he gave to breeders in the morning at the Livestock Summit in Cournon d'Auvergne. " I'll be by your side, " he told them, offering them additional drought relief and slaughterhouse financing to escape the dominance of the dominant group in the meat sector, accused of maintaining prices too low.

Emmanuel Macron walked the aisles of the show in Cournon-d'Auvergne, chatting with exhibitors and public about this exhibition gathering the best cattle, sheep and goats from French herds.

" Help us! ", Have launched several farmers," give us prospects, because we have the feeling that the French society does not want more agricultural world ". "It's bad, it's the bludgeoning that is hard, it seems to poison people," shouted a breeder.

" I can not do agribashing either, " the president replied. Arrested on Ceta , the president returned the ball in the French camp. " The difficulties we have today have nothing to do with Ceta! He said, asking the breeders to organize themselves in the sector. " Our problem today is that we do not know how to properly value what we produce. "

I am not in favor of saving money on the territory.
