“Last year, the volume of trade between our countries amounted to $ 2.5 billion and the consistent and systematic measures taken in this area give full reason to say that in 2019 the turnover will be $ 3 billion,” Mustafayev said.

According to him, this issue is one of the areas that "receives the most attention" at meetings of the intergovernmental state commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.

Earlier, the Director General of Rosatom Alexei Likhachev, following a meeting between Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, said that Russia was proposing the construction of a nuclear power plant in Azerbaijan.
