The author of the attack that killed four officials of the police headquarters in Paris showed signs of radicalization, said Saturday, October 5, the public prosecutor, Jean-François Ricard.

The antiterrorist prosecutor added, during a press conference, that "several testimonies showed that the suspect would have adhered to a radical vision of Islam" and was in contact with individuals of the "Salafist Islamist movement".

Jean-François Ricard described a "journey" of seven minutes between the moment the suspect Mickaël Harpon returned to his office after buying two knives, and the one where he was "neutralized" by a peacekeeper.

The first investigations revealed his "approval of certain abuses committed in the name of this religion", "his wish not to have certain contacts with women", "his justification" of the attacks of Charlie Hebdo in 2015, "his change of dress code for a few months, "said the antiterrorist prosecutor.

These elements justified the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office seizing the case, he concluded.
