The French men's relay qualified Friday for the final of the 4x100 m Doha World Athletics, finishing fourth in his series and being drafted at the time.

The French Amaury Golitin, Jimmy Vicaut, Meba-Mickael Zeze and Mouhamadou Fall, but without Christophe Lemaitre, finished in 37 sec 88, behind South Africa, Japan and China but in front of the Netherlands, also drafted at time.

"We are very happy, this is the 3rd best French performance of all time, but that does not mean anything for the final.It will be better to bring a medal, everything is possible," said Jimmy Vicaut in mixed zone .

"Our goal is to break the French record either this year or next year," he continued.

In the first set, the British set the fastest time, 37 sec 56, ahead of the Brazilians and Americans.

The final is Sunday at 8:30 pm, at the close of the World Championships.
