The US Supreme Court will look into the issue of abortion. The country's highest judicial body announced Friday (October 4th) that it had agreed to consider a Louisiana law that restricts access to abortion. Proponents of choosing women to decide the fate of their pregnancy are worried.

The law passed in 2014 in Louisiana requires doctors who practice abortion to practice in a hospital located less than fifty kilometers from the site of the operation.

Opponents of abortion have not hid it: their goal is to get the Supreme Court to review its 1973 decision that authorized abortion at the federal level.

" Access to abortion is hanging by a thread in this country, " said Alexis McGill, president of family planning, before adding, " this time the Supreme Court could break it ."

Donald Trump has appointed two conservative judges in the highest court in the country, and their opinion will be decisive in this highly sensitive case. The court's decision is expected in the spring, during the election period.
