“The International and European Federation of Journalists are joining the Union of Russian Journalists and are calling on Iran to clarify the reasons for her arrest and respect the freedom of the press,” the statement said.
The organizations added that they called for an investigation into the detention.

Earlier, the Iranian Foreign Ministry promised to soon release the Russian journalist. According to the ministry, Yuzik was detained to "give a number of explanations."
