The suspect, a 50-year-old man who does not have a weapons license, is indicted for serious weapons offenses and violations of the law following the incident at Drottninghög on September 4.

The prosecutor says the crime is to be considered serious because the man was drug-induced when he walked out into the outdoor space adjacent to an apartment and fired a shot - in the middle of a densely populated area.

According to police records, the man aimed the shot into the air.

Children passed by

Witness to the incident became, among other things, a person who passed by with his children.

When the police struck at the address, both sharp shotguns and a theft-fired, double-pointed shotgun were found in the home. The same weapon disappeared from a one home in Trelleborg for 2012, and for that reason the man is also prosecuted for theft.

Another 30 cartridges, which are linked to the man, were found at another address in Helsingborg.

Wanted to call the police

But the indictments also include minor drug offenses, as there are suspicions that the man had and used cannabis.

The defendant has in interrogation admitted that he had weapons and ammunition, and said that the purpose was to call the police. According to testimony, the suspected man had quarreled with a relative before firing the shot.

If he is convicted of a serious weapon offense, the sentence will be at least two years in prison.
