“M.Sanai confirmed that Yu.V. Yuzik was detained by law enforcement agencies to provide clarification on a number of issues that arose for her and will soon be released,” the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website said in a statement.
Earlier it became known that the Iranian ambassador in Moscow, Mehdi Sanai, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the detention of Yulia Yuzik.
Also earlier, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Abbas Mousavi said that the Russian journalist Yuzik would soon be released.
