This was reported by the US Department of Justice.

"An Italian citizen was detained in Marino on October 2 at the request of the United States in an espionage case to steal the commercial secrets of an American airline," a press release said.

According to investigators, the defendants could use the information obtained to develop engines, including the PD-14 for the MS-21 aircraft, and also, presumably, for the PD-35 engine for the CR929 wide-body aircraft.

“The PD-14 is a Russian aircraft engine that can be used either as a large engine for military aircraft, or as a small engine for civil aircraft,” the attached indictment says.

Earlier, a court in Naples rejected a request for release from custody of Korshunov.

August 30, it became known that at the airport of Naples, at the request of the United States, the top manager of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) Alexander Korshunov was arrested. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
