Swedish Didrik Selder resides in Tallinn. On Thursday morning, he sees a truck with the slightly misspelled text "Hello Göran, where has Swedbank lost Estonia's investors money?"

He photographs the truck, and posts the picture in a Facebook group for Swedes living in Tallinn.

The text is written in both Estonian and Swedish, and is addressed to Göran Persson, who, as chairman of the bank, visits the country on Thursday and Friday to meet, among other things, the country's prime minister Jüri Ratas, and hold a press conference on the occasion of the extensive money laundering Swedbank has been involved in the country, and which SVT News reported on.

Land speculation in Romania

But the background to the truck protest lies further back in time.

In 2007, Swedbank should have been involved in land speculation for € 8.7 million in Romania on behalf of 200 Estonian investors, who later said they had not received the return promised at all, and lost their money.

The link to the truck goes to a longer text signed by Kaupo Nõlvak, the investor representative in the bankruptcy committee, who explains in more detail his view on the situation.

"Göran Persson, if you managed to acknowledge the bank's mistakes regarding money laundering, wouldn't it also be correct to admit your mistakes when you handled Estonian investors' money?", Kaupo Nõlvak writes in the text.

During Friday morning, a number of investors also protested outside the Estonian government office.

Göran Persson and Swedbank have not yet commented.
