Today, four out of five of the youths arrested were arrested, probably for suspected serious murder. All refuse a crime.

- I have decided to cancel the arrest of the fifth person. She is still suspected, but I did not consider it proportionate to have the person arrested, says prosecutor Marie-Louise Holmberg.

Three of the detainees are under 18, the fourth is 21 years old. In order for minors to be arrested, persons are likely to be suspected and there are special grounds for detention.

- In general, for special reasons, the penalty value should be one year in prison. The minimum penalty for serious murder is four years in prison. Then I have judged that it is a serious crime and there is a great risk that the investigation will be destroyed because of the danger of collision if they are at liberty, says Marie-Louise Holmberg.

In tears during arrest

A defense lawyer for one of the suspected minors tells SVT that he hopes for a trial soon, so they don't have to sit in jail for so long. SVT's on-site reporter tells us that one of the suspects started crying during the arrest negotiations.

The prosecutor also agrees that there is no self-purpose in holding someone deprived of liberty and believes that they work extra urgently when it comes to young people.

The youths are suspected of being involved in the big fire that destroyed a warehouse building and part of the adjacent track area in central Hässleholm on August 14.
