A student at the Faculty of Engineering at the Canadian University in Dubai has developed a smart system to ensure the safety of school buses by providing an automatic sensor system, which includes several sensors that send warning signals in case objects of different sizes intercept the traffic of vehicles to avoid collision from all sides.

Ali Jassim, a student who studies mechatronics, said the sensor system is based on modern technologies to ensure safety and security for school buses. It contributes to preventing car accidents, reducing excessive speeds on roads, and providing safe transportation for students in school buses.

Jassem explained the way the sensor system works, as it is distributed on the front, sides and end of the vehicle, so that the sensors are installed in different places of the vehicle, to alert the driver that an object is blocking his way, in addition to these sensors prevent collision with people, pointing out that the sensor system is equipped with cameras On the measurement of distances between vehicles, to ensure the mitigation of speeds and prevent collisions.

He said that traffic accidents occur due to many interrelated factors, so it is necessary to strengthen and raise the level of protection in the vehicles themselves, and stress the commitment of drivers to traffic rules, and since the future is moving towards the use of cars without a driver, it must be provided with smart means of protection to ensure the safety of passengers, He stressed that the sensor system would contribute to reducing the number of accidents on the roads.
