Bahraini Salwa Eid Naser won the Doha 400 World Athletics Championships with the third-best all-time world performance in 48 sec 14 on Thursday night.

The 21-year-old is ahead of Bahamian favorite Shaunae Miller, who has been unbeaten for the past two years and also broke her personal best in 48 sec.

Eid Naser had already won a silver medal at the World Cup-2017, the year when her best time was 49 sec 88. This year, she won the Shanghai Diamond League stage but did not only once under 50 seconds, in Lausanne in July, before the Worlds.

Jamaican Shericka Jackson finishes third in 49 sec 47.

In this particularly strong final, five athletes fell below 50 seconds, all of which improved their personal best.
