According to the Federal State Statistics Service, agricultural production in Russia during the period from January to August 2019 increased by 2.6% compared to the same period in 2018.

The Ministry of Agriculture notes that in 2019 sugar production is expected to reach 6.5 million tons, livestock and poultry meat - 15.2 million tons, eggs - 44.9 billion pieces, milk production may exceed 31 million tons.

As specified, these figures are higher than last year.

According to the agency, in 2019, producer prices for poultry meat are at a stable level, the volume of production of these products is sufficient for domestic consumption, even taking into account growing exports.

The Ministry of Agriculture also said that the launch of the third stage of the introduction of the Mercury electronic veterinary certification system scheduled for November 1 will contribute to the stability of the dairy market.

Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper, citing the Association of Retail Companies (AKORT), wrote that foodstuffs by the end of 2019 in Russia could go up by 3–3.5%, which will not exceed the inflation rate.
