Helahälsingland.se reports on the police investigation. How the fire in the villa in Edsbyn started is still unclear. It should have started downstairs of the house, but why is unknown.

Emma saved the children from the fire

The alarm about the Edsby fire came early in the morning of September 3. The alarm then included a severely burned woman and several children.

Today we know that six-year-old mother Emma Schols just woke up when she discovered the fire. Against all odds she managed with the help of one of the children and a ladder from a balcony to save all her children from the burning house.

- She is a warrior, what she has done for her children proves it and she will not release them again, Emma's sister Sofie Engman has previously told SVT Gävleborg.

Still being hospitalized

Emma Schols is currently being cared for at the Academic Hospital in Uppsala. She has burns all over her body, but the internal organs and face have survived.
