Two women who were students of James Franco's acting classes denounced the actor on Thursday and accused him of having taken advantage of them sexually.

The lawsuit, which was accessed by American media, was presented Thursday in a Los Angeles courthouse by Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal.

Tither-Kaplan was one of the five women who reported the actor for alleged sexual misconduct in an article published in January 2018 by the Los Angeles Times.

The complaint ensures that James Franco and his partners at the Studio 4 school "developed an inappropriate or sexually charged behavior or extension towards students by sexualizing their power from teacher to employee by encouraging them with opportunities for roles in their projects."

Always, according to the plaintiffs, these actions led to "an environment of sexual harassment and exploitation both inside and outside the classes."

The two women signed up for Studio 4 in 2014 and said the classes included lessons about sex scenes that consisted of " simulations of sexual acts that went well beyond industry standards ."

Tither-Kaplan, as he had already stated in the Los Angeles Times article, specified in the lawsuit the alleged filming of an orgy in which Franco simulated practicing oral sex for women.

However, according to the accusation account, Franco removed the plastic protections that covered women's vaginas before simulating oral sex.

The lawsuit requires compensation for those affected and the return or destruction of any recording made in Studio 4.

The controversy surrounding Franco began at the 2018 Golden Globes, where the actor took the award for best actor in a comedy for "The Disaster Artist" (2017) and on whose red carpet he paraded with a pin of "Time's Up ".

During the ceremony, several actresses charged social networks against the alleged hypocrisy of James Franco for wearing one of those badges, as they said he was responsible for episodes of sexual abuse in the past.

Those Golden Globes were the first awards that were held after the feminist impulse against the sexual aggressions of the #MeToo movement and virtually all attendees dressed in black to show their rejection of machismo.

A few days later, Franco responded to these accusations in an interview with Stephen Colbert on the night show "The Late Show".

"The things I have heard that are on Twitter are not accurate, but I fully support people coming out and being able to have a voice because they did not have a voice for a long time ... The way I live my life, I can't live if there is a pending compensation (...) If I have done something wrong, I will fix it. I have to do it, "he said.

The following day the Los Angeles Times report was published detailing the accusations against the actor, including that of the now plaintiff Tither-Kaplan.

Franco has continued to work in Hollywood since then: the series "The Deuce", which he heads alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal, is now broadcasting his third and final season on HBO; and the movie "Zeroville", which he directed and starred in, was screened out of competition at the last edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival.
