Habitat has been put on sale by its parent company, Cafom, which hopes to see the deal "in the coming months".

"The Board of Directors of Cafom decided, at its meeting of September 30, 2019, to initiate a process of sale of its subsidiary Habitat with the objective of reaching a transaction in the coming months," the group said. in a statement Thursday.

Habitat, which has been struggling for some time, accounts for a quarter of the Cafom group's activity, with the latter wanting to refocus on its overseas franchises and its online shopping sites like Vente-unique.com, according to the same source. .

This announcement comes a year after Cafom launched a recovery plan for Habitat, which operates 27 stores in France and 39 in the world.

As part of this reorganization, Habitat has already closed several stores, including six in Germany, and ceased operations in Norway.
