It was a long-awaited announcement: Didier Deschamps announced on Thursday (October 3rd) the list of 23 players who will face Iceland and Turkey on October 11th and 14th.

The French coach has recalled the goalkeeper of Marseille Steve Mandanda, 34, for the next two games counting for qualificatiions at the Euro-2020. He had, however, put it aside during the two previous gatherings.

Paul Pogba and Mike Maignan miss the call

If Didier Deschamps is deprived of Paul Pogba on injury for these two summits of group H, he can however count on Kylian Mbappé, recovered from an injury to a thigh and absent from the selection retained in September.

As for Jonathan Ikoné of Lille, substitute and striker against Albania (4-1) then holder and decisive passer against Andorra (3-0) in September for his first rally, he is summoned for the second time in a row.

His team mate Mike Maignan, however, is the cost of returning to form Mandanda with OM since the beginning of the season.

No new player selected

The Parisian Presnel Kimpembe, operated by a pubalgie in May, is back in the defense. N'Golo Kanté and Tanguy Ndombélé, wounded in September, also return in midfield.

In attack, Olivier Giroud is called again, despite playing almost no game with Chelsea. Monegasque Wissam Ben Yedder will be his direct rival for a titular spot in Iceland on October 11 and for Turkey's reception on October 14 at the Stade de France.

No newcomer appears in the list unveiled by Didier Deschamps Thursday from the headquarters of the Federation in Paris.
