“On October 2, a telephone conversation took place between the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Army General Valery Gerasimov and General Mark Milli, the newly appointed chairman of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
On September 4, Gerasimov held telephone conversations with French counterpart Francois Lekuentr.
