- It has been an unsustainable work situation for the staff, but those who are still struggling and trying to keep their spirits up, says Carina Frejding, regional safety representative for the Municipality of Skåne and who was present at the meeting on Wednesday evening.

The criticism of housing has been around for several years. Sydsvenskan was the first to report the case and has taken part in some 60 deviation reports at the municipality just this year.

In the magazine, a relative tells her that her mother has not had a shower for over three weeks this summer. Another example is about an elderly lady who burned, because the staff forgot her out in the sun for hours.

Several change of ownership

The elderly residence S: t Knut was first owned by the healthcare company Norlandia but was sold to Aleris Omsorg, who would take over the operation in January this year.

But at the same time that the takeover was to take place, Aleris was acquired by the healthcare group Vardaga. That made it extra complicated, says Annicka Jönsson, chair of the Municipal Department of Trelleborg / Vellinge.

- For a couple of weeks, for example, there were no computer systems where the documentation could be made, she says.

Did not get his medicine

Many of the deviation reports that SVT took part in are about medicines that have not been distributed. Or medicine distributed by staff who did not have the authority. According to those responsible, this was due to staff shortages. A large number of similar cases have been registered at Vellinge municipality.

- Giant crowds at the accommodation have resigned and there are many hourly variants, says Annicka Jönsson.

Among the deviation reports are a number of examples of where the routines have failed. May 14, 2019: "According to digital signing list, there are no signatures on a total of 26 occasions and that three times have been performed by non-delegated staff".

The mother completely dehydrated

A relative has reported that the mother has lost weight and that the staff have told her that she stopped taking her medication after the "doctor accidentally clicked away" the task that she should have medicine. When the mother entered the emergency room, she was reportedly completely dehydrated and had very low blood value.

The idea of the meeting on Wednesday evening was to hear how the members are feeling and according to the safety representative Carina Frejding there has been a large shortage of staff with the right training, which has among other things caused some of the employees to have a heavy load on the job.

During the meeting, it was also revealed that the staff have asked for their work situation to be improved for a long time, but that the many change of bosses have made the measures go too slow.

- Now the staff wants more staff with the right skills and work peace, says Carina Frejding.
