A luxury chalet in Courchevel, whose abandoned construction site opposes a Corsican promoter and a Russian oligarch, has been placed in bankruptcy, a procedure that suspends its auction scheduled for Friday, according to concordant sources.

The price was 27 million euros, according to the announcement of the auction published by a law firm representing the interests of Nikolai Sarkisov, a billionaire who co-financed the construction of the chalet Apopka.

In 2010, he had joined forces with François-Xavier Susini, owner of several establishments in the Savoyard ski resort, in an SCI whose liquidation was pronounced on 17 September by the district court. Albertville.

The 2,700 square meter palace, with swimming pool and movie theater, should have welcomed its first customers in the winter of 2015, at a rate of up to 300,000 euros the week at the height of the season.

But without being completed, the chalet Apopka has never been rented, leaving huge slates behind him and sowing discord between the two partners who clash for three years in court.

While Mr. Susini had arrogated the entire share of the SCI, Mr. Sarkisov had bought back his debt of 27 million euros - via a company of the British Virgin Islands - and he hoped to recover his money through the auction Friday.

The latter is no longer relevant because of the liquidation, which suspends the procedure and gives a period of two months to all creditors to come forward, the oligarch will have to wait, a sale of the cottage being no longer expected before next year.
