While the People's Republic of China celebrates it's 70 years since the Communist Party and Mao Zedong took power in the country, the unrest has taken off in Hong Kong. Demonstrations without permission have taken place and the police have responded with tear gas and pepper spray.

The unrest was expected with several demonstrations planned around the city. Already on Tuesday morning came reports that thousands of people blocked traffic and started building barricades.
