Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said in remarks to the island that his country welcomes Saudi Arabia's desire to resolve differences through dialogue, noting that the doors of Iran are open for that.
Larijani added that a Saudi-Iranian dialogue could solve many of the region's security and political problems, stressing that Tehran recommends the Houthis to accept any ceasefire with Saudi Arabia. He also called for the formation of a collective security system for the Gulf with the participation of all Gulf states.
The comments came after Iranian government spokesman Ali Rubaie said on Monday that President Hassan Rouhani had received a letter from Saudi Arabia, delivered to him by a head of state, but gave no information on the content of the letter.
The spokesman added that Tehran is ready for dialogue if Riyadh changes its behavior in the region and stop the war in Yemen, pointing out that the recent ground attack by the Houthis on the Kingdom confirms their ability to carry out the attack on the facilities of the oil company Aramco.

In the same context, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said yesterday that his country is ready to reduce tensions with Saudi Arabia if the other party is ready.

Abdul-Mahdi said in an interview with Al Jazeera to be broadcast later that his visit to Saudi Arabia was in order to calm down, and that resolving the crisis in Yemen could be a key to the solution of the Gulf crisis.
