Leif was sentenced to two years in prison for killing a wolf on Lake Fansen in Hälsingland.

It was in February 2011 that he and a friend of his decided to hit the wolf. Leif on skis. The other man on snowmobile.

Wanted to film wolf elk

According to Leif, the plan was to film wolfed moose that were still alive. He wanted to show how cruel the wolf is when hunting.

- Some seem to think that the wolf only eats grass, when in reality it can hit and leave a live moose that is really small.

Leif says his aim was to create public opinion that would make the authorities understand that the wolf tribe in Sweden need to be smaller.

Earned his punishment

In the district court he refused to have killed the wolf. And that he and his accomplice had decided hit. Now he openly tells us how it went. He doesn't think he has anything to hide. He has served his sentence. And he wants people to understand that he hadn't planned to kill the wolf.

- If we had wanted to kill the wolf we would have brought some tools, or a gun. But we didn't have that.

Leif killed Fansenvargen with a branch in February 2011. The district court judgment fell in 2013. In 2014, the High Court sharpened his sentence.

Two years in prison.

Fewer wolves

Leif thinks that the wolf is an overprotected predator and wishes there were fewer. But even though he wishes the wolf trunk was smaller, he thinks illegal hunting is meaningless.
