French President Emmanuel Macron pledged 60 million euros to support the transitional period in Sudan, and said after meeting with Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk that the latter met in France with the head of the Sudan Liberation Movement in Darfur Abdul Wahid Noor in preparation for signing a peace agreement.

On Monday evening, Hamdock discussed with Macron ways of boosting and developing bilateral relations. He also discussed with French Minister of Economy and Finance Brno Lemerre the prospects of economic cooperation and the reintegration of Sudan in the international development community.

The Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Ibrahim al-Badawi, who attended the meeting, said that the development of lending to Sudan from international development organizations was discussed.

Following the meeting, Macron said at a joint press conference with Hamdouk that France would provide 60 million euros to support the transitional period in Sudan, adding that "the Sudanese revolution inspires Africa and the world."

"We will continue to call on the United States to remove Sudan from the list of state sponsors of terrorism," Macron said.

For his part, Hamdouk said that his country appreciates French support for Khartoum, adding, "We are a peaceful people, and support for terrorism was linked to the former regime .. Our revolution is putting the first steps for the return of Sudan to the international environment."

Peace Agreement
In another context, Macron said that his government helped to convene a meeting on Sunday brought Hamdouk with Abdel Wahed Nour, who is in France. "Your decision to agree to hold this meeting is a good decision, and I think the stage that was skipped yesterday is a fundamental one," he said.

"I think we are now taking the first steps in the right direction towards this peace," Hamdouk said. "France is the only country capable of bringing us together, as evidenced by the meeting you organized with Abdel Wahed Nour."

He added that the talks with Nour were very in-depth, and that it was scheduled to be half an hour, but extended to three hours, during which they discussed the possibilities of the solution and consolidate peace.
