Cementa in Slite is Sweden's largest producer of Cement. The raw material limestone is taken from two limestone quarries, both in Slite and partly in Filehajdar where the company mined lime for many years.

But the permit expires in 2021 and people have applied to continue the crime in the crimes.

Now the land and the environmental court will have to decide whether Cementa should continue to break more lime in the crimes until 2041. But the county administrative board on Gotland is against the plans.

- What this test is mainly about is the impact of protection values ​​in Natura-2000 areas and Gotland's water supply, says Åke Mauritzson, environmental protection officer at the County Administrative Board of Gotland.

Cementa believes that the impact that the refraction has on nature and water is balanced by various protective measures. Factory Manager Fred Grönwall says a new permit is crucial for the company.
