The three French hurdlers Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, Dimitri Bascou and Wilhem Belocian did not reassure Monday in the playoffs of the 110m hurdles but all three qualified for the semifinals of the World Cups in Doha (Qatar).

The European champion Martinot-Lagarde was the most effective in winning his series, in a time however average (13 sec 45).

Dimitri Bascou finished 6th in the 4th series in 13.53 but was drafted at the time (the first 4 of each series were automatically qualified and then the four best times in total).

Finally, Wilhem Belocian finished 4th in the last heat in 13 sec 67 at the end of a difficult race, far from his best time of the year (13.28).

One of the tournament's favorites, American Daniel Roberts (13.00 this season), was disqualified for "not getting past each hurdle" as he knocked down the hurdle of another competitor (with his leg back, the second to cross the obstacle) before violently kicking his 10th hedge. He had previously won the 3rd series ahead of Martinot-Lagarde.

The semi-finals and final are scheduled for Wednesday.
