The total number of male and female citizens registered in the nine electoral bodies for the elections of the Consultative Council of Sharjah reached 35,595, an increase of 43% over the first round of the elections held in 2015.

The Supreme Committee for the elections of the Sharjah Consultative Council, congratulated His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on the occasion of the completion of the registration of UAE nationals from the campaign to register Sharjah in the electoral bodies Increase the percentage of registration.

The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Mansour bin Nassar, said that the increase in turnout is an indication of the growing parliamentary awareness among the people of the emirate and the importance of participation in the electoral process and the evidence of the success of the experiment since its birth. Bin Nassar expressed his sincere thanks to the Higher Elections Commission for all citizens who responded to the call of national duty in registering the electoral process, which translates their keenness to participate in making a prosperous future for their children and their participation in decision-making in a way that enhances the consultative approach and achieves the national interest in general.

Sharjah ranked first in the number of registrants, which reached 14,591 citizens, while Khorfakkan came second with 7,053, while Kalba registered 5,702 in the elections.

In the elections of Sharjah Consultative Council, 2819 citizens from Dibba Al Hisn and 1837 from Al Dhaid city were registered.

The number of registered in the elections of the Advisory Council of Sharjah in the areas of Madam 1337 and Maliha 1027 and Bataeh 665, while the Hamriyah region recorded 564 citizens.

The Supreme Committee for the elections of the Sharjah Advisory Council announced the completion of the electoral process in the second round of the Advisory Council elections in accordance with the plan and guidance and follow-up by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, in order to enhance the role of the people of Sharjah and their participation in decision-making and promote development programs in the Emirate.

In accordance with the timetable previously approved, a decision will be issued on 9 October 2019 to announce the opening of the nomination process, which begins with the registration of candidates over a period of three days from 20 to 22 October 2019.The preliminary list of candidates will be announced on 27 October.
